Success Story: ACS, Mobile Technology & KEBA

As the challenges of last-mile delivery continue to evolve, ACS, the leading courier company in Greece, has partnered with Mobile Technology to implement an innovative and flexible solution for optimizing delivery services: the ACS Smartpoint Lockers. These automated, secure, and contactless lockers, available 24/7, significantly reduce carbon emissions associated with traditional delivery methods, offering a sustainable and customer-centric alternative. The solution eliminates the need for customers to wait for deliveries, while simultaneously decongesting physical stores and improving operational efficiency.

Strategic Technology Management
Recognizing the importance of adopting cutting-edge technologies to meet evolving customer demands, ACS has strategically invested in smart logistics solutions. Mr. Kostas Menegakis, General Manager of ACS, states: "The pace of life and the evolving needs of our customers dictate our strategic direction, and it is our duty to stay ahead."
When it comes to smart locker deployment, ACS strategically selects high-traffic locations with significant commercial value, ensuring easy accessibility and round-the-clock availability, delivering maximum convenience to end-users and optimizing the last-mile delivery experience.

Expanding Network Coverage and Enhancing Customer Reach
For over two years, ACS, the leading courier service provider in Greece, has been making strategic investments in automated parcel locker solutions, reinforcing its commitment to logistics innovation and customer convenience. Today, ACS operates a robust network of more than 13,500 smart lockers across 360+ key locations, primarily in Athens and Thessaloniki, effectively catering to the growing demand for flexible and efficient parcel delivery solutions.

The expanding customer base is driven predominantly by the booming e-commerce sector, with consumers seeking seamless, time-efficient, and contactless delivery options. Usage data indicates a significant demand surge during peak hours between 12:00 and 22:00, Monday through Friday, demonstrating a clear preference for extended access beyond traditional store hours, providing unparalleled convenience and enhancing the overall customer experience.

Reliable Partnerships and High-Quality Solutions Driving Growth
In the rapidly evolving logistics landscape, reliable partnerships and high-quality solutions are key to success. Mr. Kostas Menegakis, General Manager of ACS, emphasizes: “Having a trusted and experienced partner is crucial for the expansion of our smart locker network. The collaboration between KEBA and Mobile Technology offered the perfect synergy—Mobile Technology, our trusted partner for over 15 years, and KEBA, a globally renowned leader in the field, ensured the optimal solution for our needs.”

To meet the evolving demands of its customers, ACS has deployed KEBA’s KePol FS-09 and FS-10 series smart lockers, designed for outdoor environments, offering secure, reliable, and efficient parcel management solutions. The strategic rollout of these lockers across Athens and Thessaloniki is progressing rapidly, with continued expansion plans in place.
By June 2024, ACS is set to operate more than 400 smart parcel lockers, providing over 10,000 storage compartments across Greece, reinforcing its commitment to enhanced customer service and operational excellence.

Bilingual, User-Friendly Interface for an Enhanced Customer Experience
ACS, in collaboration with KEBA, leverages a flexible and fully integrated locker management platform, seamlessly embedding it into its existing software ecosystem. This solution enables ACS to maintain full operational control while benefiting from KEBA’s robust technology infrastructure.
The user interface, meticulously designed by ACS' in-house software development team, is crafted to provide an intuitive and user-friendly experience for all stakeholders, including customers, delivery personnel, and technicians. With its streamlined and accessible design, the platform ensures effortless operation, even for users with no prior experience with smart lockers.
To cater to a diverse audience, the interface supports both Greek and English, enhancing accessibility and usability across a broad customer base. Moreover, each screen features a dedicated support contact number, granting users immediate access to ACS' expert technicians for real-time assistance, reinforcing ACS' commitment to exceptional customer service and operational efficiency.

Tackling Last-Mile Delivery Challenges with Smart Solutions
The rapid growth of e-commerce and the increasing volume of shipments present significant challenges for last-mile delivery, particularly in densely populated urban areas where traffic congestion and limited parking availability create logistical bottlenecks. To address these complexities, ACS, in collaboration with Mobile Technology and KEBA, has implemented smart parcel locker solutions that provide a reliable, efficient, and customer-centric approach to last-mile logistics. These solutions optimize operations for both delivery personnel and end recipients, ensuring seamless and hassle-free parcel collection.
Mr. Kostas Menegakis, General Manager of ACS, affirms: “We are extremely satisfied with our partnership so far. The outstanding quality of the product, combined with the seamless performance of both the software and hardware, has exceeded our expectations.”

By leveraging innovative last-mile delivery technologies, ACS continues to enhance operational efficiency, minimize environmental impact, and improve the customer experience, solidifying its position as a leader in the Greek logistics market.

A Promising Future for Last-Mile Delivery Innovation
ACS remains dedicated to expanding its logistics network, with plans to extend its presence across more Greek cities and islands, further strengthening its position in the market. With a forward-thinking approach, ACS is exploring new opportunities in last-mile delivery, leveraging smart locker solutions to enhance operational flexibility and customer convenience. The integration of parcel returns via lockers is set to offer a seamless, two-way logistics solution, allowing customers to both receive and return parcels effortlessly, reinforcing ACS's commitment to service excellence and innovation.

Mr. Kostas Menegakis, General Manager of ACS, states: “Smart parcel lockers represent a continuously evolving solution. We are confident that future advancements will introduce even more sophisticated features.
